Established in 1996, Lusosider Aços Planos S.A is the only Portuguese company of the steel sector which produces and sells flat steel with anticorrosion coating. It is a steel re-rolling company that uses hot-rolled steel coils as raw materials. They are stripped and cold rolled to smaller thicknesses, subsequently passing through an annealing process to obtain the desired mechanical properties, and finally coated with zinc through hot dipping – galvanized product.

Lusosider also produces two other products, cold rolled and stripped and oiled product. In addition to its products, Lusosider sells tinplates produced in Brazil by CSN – its sole shareholder.

With headquarters and a manufacturing facility in Paio Pires, Seixal, it has a production capacity of 500,000 tons per year of flat products. Its products can be applied in the industries of civil construction, for the manufacture of pipes, profiles, ventilation ducts, metal structures and others; in the metal furniture industry, for the manufacture of cabinets and boxes; the packaging industry, the manufacture of drums; and also in the automotive sector, in the manufacture of auto parts.

Lusosider is certified for the standards ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO45001:2018 and for the Factory Production Control according to the UE Regulation 305/2011 and standard EN 10025-1:2004 which allows the company to apply the CE Mark. Lusosider has its own Policy for Quality, Environment, Safety and Health at Work.
