Home Appliances is also referred to as the White Line sector (manufacturers of refrigerators, ovens, washing-machines, refrigerators, etc.) Here, we also include the markets for steel furniture and hermetic compressors.
OEM (Original Equipment for Manufacturers) is assigned to serve the following segments: re-rollers, gas cylinder manufacturers, bulk containers for juice and chemical products, electrical motors and agriculture. This market focuses mainly on industry, but is also active in other areas.
Brazil's steel market for home appliances has undergone great change in the last decade. The down gauging of steel in various applications and the growth in use of galvanized steels being the most significant examples.

An example of this leadership is the development of new products, such as IA-25 steel (specifically for agricultural use), electrical steel (for compressors and electric motors) and special steels for re-rolling.
With the final opening of CSN Paraná (CISA), Aluminum-Zinc coated steel will be available, offering even higher corrosion resistance. In the same unit, pre-painted products will also be produced, which are cold rolled, galvanized and then undergo a pre-painting process. Besides these new products, CSN Paraná (CISA) will also offer a service center to its clients.
Engineering
With CSN's structuring into market units, our engineers are also oriented with the same client focus. This also includes simultaneous engineering in which our teams develop solutions for a project's not-so-obvious requirements. This is achieved through a constant process of visits and workshops.
Through this process, our engineers can suggest product modifications, refinements or projects to develop new CSN specifications. Such projects are conducted together with CSN's R&D. One important such achievement was the initiative to produce cold rolled and galvanized blanks for just-in-time delivery to the home appliance market.
