CSN pre-painted steel represents a new era in the Brazilian flat steel market. CSN has started operating one of the most advanced production lines in the world offering the latest technology and the capability to develop new products.
CSN Operating Model
CSN is Brazil’s largest producer of galvanized steel, the main raw material used in coil coating. This material is produced in one of CSN’s three galvanizing units: Usina Presidente Vargas (Volta Redonda - RJ), CSN Porto Real (Porto Real – RJ) or CSN Paraná (Araucária – PR) and painted in Araucária. As well as this, CSN produces high-quality cold-rolled steels that can be used for pre-painting.
Furthermore, the preferred commercialization model will be the sale of pre-painted coiled steel. This will guarantee smoother trade and greater technical assistance to the customer, as well as reduced stock, lower transport costs and taxation.
